24/7 urgent care and 111

The new Government’s programme describes how the NHS will develop more accessible health care by introducing a single number for urgent care and by using technology to help people communicate with their doctors. This is pivotal to QIPP and to alleviating the trend of increasing urgent care demand.

The heart of this far-reaching strategy is the introduction of telephonic single point of access systems and the piloting of a three digit number using 111.

We supported the project management of the most extensive and successful telephonic SPA project to date – the innovative integrated system across County Durham and Darlington. This work has expanded to include support for further PCTs and NHS North East related to the national 111 demonstrator site.

We are confident that no other specialist healthcare consultancy has our level of expertise to support PCTs in their response to this key central initiative.

We also have expertise in the introduction of other forms of technology to support access such as websites and text systems.
