QIPP Advice and Training
We are the first specialist healthcare consultancy to be able to provide specific services designed to support your response to QIPP.
QIPP (Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention) is the NHS response to the fiscal pressure upon us following the credit crunch. The work is headed by Jim Easton, the DH National Director of Improvement and Efficiency appointed in August 2009.
The NHS needs to address a possible productivity requirement of 4-8% from 2011-14 equating to £25.4bn in England alone. These figures are based upon the King’s Fund report “How cold will it be? Prospects for NHS funding 2011-17”.
We already have experience of delivering QIPP response work including:
- Training on what is QIPP, what needs to happen now and later
- Facilitated clinically-led seminars of primary and secondary care clinicians to identify redesign options
- Successful invest to save business cases and projects
- Targeted analysis to identify focused work that stems from our intimate knowledge of the NHS
- Did you know that 10% of A&E patients walk out before being seen but still attract PbR tariff?
- Or, that simple steps will lead to 10% of NCA invoices to a typical PCT being refunded (a benefit of £350k per annum)?
- Or, that one PCT saved £600k in one year at one FT by addressing planned procedures not carried out (S22s or WA14Zs)?
This work can be delivered at practice, PBC Group and PCT levels.
